On our visit to McCulloch Academy of Technology and Science in Jackson Public Schools, Jackson, Michigan, we were greeted by three adult volunteers – a Mom, a Dad, and a Grandmother – who volunteer at the school. Their service includes greeting all visitors, helping them sign-in and navigate the hallways, helping students, and assisting teachers as needed. “We’re here each day” the Dad told us, while the Grandmother shared that her daughter attended McCullough Academy and now her grandchild is there. How exciting for us to see McCulloch Academy partnering with its parents/grandparents in a positive and effective way!
McCulloch is led by Principal Frances Reeves who has been a teacher and leader in the Jackson Public School system for over 40 years. Principal Reeves, the faculty, and staff at McCulloch Academy believe parent involvement is a key to student success and utilize parents to create a positive and encouraging learning community for all students.
McCulloch Academy of Technology and Science is home to the Monarchs and Junior Vikings. Its mission is to inspire and educate all students to be responsible and diverse citizens. Check out “Around McCulloch” on their school website.
