The Santa Rosa County School District is consistently known as one of the highest performing districts in the state of Florida in the area of student achievement. In the 2011 school year under the leadership of Superintendent Tim Wyrosdick, Santa Rosa County ranked number two overall among the 67 school districts in the state of Florida. In the video clip below Mr. Wyrosdick describes how performance and achievement began with a focus on relationships and a focus on students.
So, where does leader evaluation fit? The leaders in the Santa Rosa County School District wanted to improve and sustain existing high performing student achievement results. This meant that when the district began experiencing changing demographics that influenced a shift in the culture of the community and the school district, and the demands on the workforce of the school district began changing, Superintendent Wyrosdick and the leaders in the District implemented Evidence-Based Leadership to hardwire processes for leaders to use to support and engage employees to perform at their highest potential and to engage parents to create a mutually supportive relationship.
