Today was a special “Partner Friday” celebration – colleagues and friends participating in the Studer Education Football Fundraiser 2013 enjoyed a tailgate luncheon with hotdogs from The Dog House Deli – that highlighted the work of Milk and Honey Outreach in Pensacola, Florida. Check out their service to at-risk youth in Pensacola:
Final pledged donations from the Football Fundraiser to support Milk and Honey are not all in, but we’ve well-surpassed the amount pledged and are nearing $600! The money goes directly to support school tutoring in reading, writing, and math; and to support the nutritional needs of more than 30 students each month.
Today’s tailgate provided an opportunity for representatives from Milk and Honey Outreach to meet some of the individuals who pledged monetary support, thank them, and share a bit about volunteer opportunities with the organization; more than that, however, it was an opportunity for me and my colleagues to see the absolute grace, love, and humility these individuals bring to the youth they serve. If you’re looking for a service opportunity with youth, then look no further than Milk and Honey Outreach.
