It’s Teacher Appreciation Week and today we celebrate hero teacher Mr. Bill Conway from Parker High School in the School District of Janesville (WI). Mr. Conway was nominated by eight of his colleagues on the PBIS Team to be named Studer Education’s “Hero Teacher” – this is what they shared with us:
This is what the Studer Education selection team said, “Mr. Conway serves not only as a teacher, but also as a mentor to his students. As stated on the nomination form, ‘students can go to him for social studies help or to just unwind.’ This relationship that he builds creates a safe place for all students. He gives his personal time and talent to improve the educational experience for all students. He truly lives the meaning of ‘open-door policy.'”
Thank you, Mr. Conway, for teaching us that great educators – Hero Educators – connect with students and colleagues, and through the connection, make them better people. Thank you for trying to always teach your students to enjoy other aspects of life. Great educators do this—make those around them better people—as evidenced by your colleagues’ nomination of you, you do this. We at Studer Education appreciate the opportunity to celebrate your commitment to students and colleagues at Parker High School as a Hero Teacher!
