One of the reading rabbit holes I ventured down this week led me to this great video recommended by Harvard author John Kotter:
Key words help leaders maximize their interactions with colleagues and other stakeholders. In education, coaching teachers on how to use key words helps them maximize parent-teacher interactions, which help them develop partnerships with their students’ parents. When teachers and school leaders key word their messages when connecting with parents, they help reduce a parent’s anxiety and let him/her know that they care about them and their child and believe that their input is important.
